Football offers the chance for children to be active, learn new skills, and challenge themselves. Yet, most importantly, it provides kids the opportunity to simply have fun with fitness. When teaching the fundamental skills of football, we at Kiddikicks always keep in mind that football is a game and we want to ensure that the children are enjoying themselves. We help all the players be the best they can by creating an entertaining and productive environment.
Here are 5 reasons why football is a great way for kids to have fun:
Football is a fantastic, healthy way for children to get out of the house. We all know that young kids don't like to sit still. Toddlers enjoy being as active as possible and, as parents, it’s up to you to limit their sedentary time. Playing sports is a vital part of growing up, and it helps children develop a healthy body and mind, not to mention burning off excess energy so they hopefully sleep better and Mum and Dad get some time to themselves.
Football is a great way to interact with friends and other children of a similar age. It's important for children to have friends outside of nursery and school and it's great for parents to meet similar minded parents. A child will learn that by working together as a team, things can be accomplished much easier and parents can help to reinforce this at play and at home. Team sports teach children how to get along with teammates and it’s therefore a great way to make friends.
Children are vulnerable to stress and allowing your child to live a balanced life can be a challenge for most families. At Kiddikicks we do all we can to allow the kids to feel relaxed and stress-free! Participating in sports is proven to be a helpful way of reducing stress by releasing endorphins, which help increase feelings of physical and mental well being. If children are given a positive introduction to sport early on, they will likely continue playing sport long into later life.
Television, video games, and the Internet can certainly be sources of education and entertainment for kids. But too much screen time can undoubtedly have unhealthy side effects. Instead of staring at a screen for long periods, your child’s day could be put to much better use, being physically active and having lots of fun.
Football is a time for children to experience freedom and express themselves. At Kiddikicks, we allow children to run around with a ball (with structure, instruction and plenty of encouragement) and we allow them to be children!
Our aim is to focus on encouraging every child to have fun participating together. Rather than pressuring young children about perfect technique, we teach them about enjoying themselves while being active and developing new skills particularly close ball control.
We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year - we hope it's fun and look forward to seeing you all in 2016. Our London kids football classes start back January 5th 2016.
