Yup it's official. Summer is over on Sunday October 26th when the clocks scoot backwards 1 hour!
More unsettling is the loss of 1 hour of afternoon, outdoor play to the dark-side!
We've come up with 2 energy burning games to play indoors to keep your kids moving and having fun!
Indoor Football. Yes this is a perfectly sane activity and possible with 1 simple rule - the ball has to stay on the ground or come up no higher than the child's knee. Use a bean bag style ball for safety and low bounce. Now relax!
Hide and Seek with a twist - the seeker has to 'seek' the hider using a descriptive movement - bump and twist like a tornado, hop like a bunny, wriggle like a snake, jump like a frog, bounce like a kangaroo or walk like a flamingo. All of these movements will exercise the large muscles in the legs and put a smile on everyone's faces. Encourage children to keep the movement up right until the end of the game. Have a go yourself!
